MJ suffered a lot of abuse as a child. His performances in the Jackson 5 were brilliant, yet mature beyond his years and there must have been some emotional price to pay for that later on.<br /><br />I wonder if his life would have had a more positive trajectory if his talent had been able to mature at a more leisurely pace with more formal talent development. Music schools, art and writing programs are not perfect of course, but ideally they provide mentorship and a safe place for developing talent.
