And OOOOH they’re so pretty!!
So guess what?
I feel like giving one or two away.
Yes, I know they’ll be in stores Tuesday. And you’ve all preordered them, right? But this will be a SIGNED copy, and if we work fast we can get one to you before they hit the shelves.
Here’s what we’re going to do. In comments, tell me your favorite moment from PERSONAL DEMONS. It can be anything; a line of dialogue, an entire scene, whatever. Just let me know what it was.
I will randomly pick a winner or two–depending on how many entires I get–and will take the books to the post office tomorrow morning, to be shipped overnight mail.* So you’ll have them Monday.
Now. In order to do this, I have to have your address by tomorrow morning. I will announce the winners this evening; let’s say by midnight. So be ready! It’s a short contest, I know, but hopefully will be fun. Um, and hopefully people will want to play.
So…let’s get started!
* Yes, I will ship to other countries, but not overnight. Sorry. I’m generous and excited, but I’m not rich.

Stacia,,,, I would love to win one but I do admit that I have yet to read PD. I really am intrigued with Megan and Grey and hope to get ahold of this soon… I have read a few excerpts but that is only a taste and I am going to see about picking it up this weekend so I can be ready for Demon Inside on Tues…. I will be there asking politely at the book stores that they have copies of both on hand….
Comment
Thanks Shell! Much appreciated!

I’ve had so many books (over 200) on the tbr pile and I’ve read so many books since I read PD I can’t recall the scenes clearly enough. There was one in the boardroom that I thought was way cool, but it’s hazy in my memory. I’ll be re-reading before reading DI, though.
What’s sad is that I have so many new books I haven’t been re-reading hardly at all for the last couple of years. (I keep telling myself I’ll have old age for that, lol.)
Comment
I know what you mean. Although I keep buying books and not getting to them because I’m re-reading old favorites.
Comment
I do that a LOT, but since I moved last winter I’ve been trying to whittle down the TBR pile, so I have only reread a few things.
Comment
Didn’t read your books yet but there in my tbr pile. I wanted to say congrats on the book release.
Comment
Thanks!
Comment
Would love to win a copy of Demon Inside, but sadly, haven’t read Personal Demons yet. But it’s on my TBR pile!
Congratulations on the upcoming release!
Comment
Thank you!

Ummm….the scene in the kitchen on the counter…
Also, the brothers doing hair and make up! Hilarious…loved that!
Comment
Hee, the kitchen scene was one of my favorites! Thanks!
Comment
sigh….all of them are my favorite parts..but I love spuds accents..just sayin..but don’t enter me of course…just puttin my 2 cents in..

Best thing about Personal Demons? That it is sitting on my mantle on my “to read” pile that my wife keeps telling me to move to the den?
Or how about before getting a chance to read it seeing that you are on Twitter and that you accused Mark Henry of showing signs of dementia…
Comment
Mark is totally losing his grip on reality. He actually loved the third book in my upcoming Del Rey series. *whispers* He has problems.
Thanks!
Comment
I loved the brothers too but since this one was already named I picked another:
“It is. You promised me first.”
“Oh my god, what are you, a Klingon? So I went there. So I accepted an
offer and I said I wouldn’t. So what? What are you going to do, cut
out my tongue?”
“Unfortunately, no. I’m not allowed.”
I love Klingons and I love Star Trek references. And who doesn’t love to read about cutting out tongues.
Would love to win a copy.
Oh and congratz on the release!!!
Comment
LOL! That reminds me of the LOTR scene. : )
Comment
Hee! I loved writing both those. I get all excited when I can include geeky references in my books. UNHOLY GHOSTS has a Ghostbusters reference that makes me grin like a dork every time I think of it. Oh, and I just put a FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH reference in the third Demons books, too. Heh.

Sadly, I have not heard about you or your book before until I seen HockeyVampiress retweet your post about your contest. The “enter my damn contest. I need more entries” just made me pause, laugh, and think “This author is so damn cool.” So after I followed you, i came on over to see what it’s about. You have thumbs up from me!
Comment
Well, thanks!
Much appreciated!

Best thing about Personal Demons? That I just finished it not to long ago. I really enjoyed the entire book but I loved when Megan met Greyson. – businessman/rapist line.
Comment
Hee, thank you!
You know, I didn’t mean for this contest to be a big ego stroke, I just wanted people to get excited, but it is kind of ego-strokey. I feel bad about that. Sigh.
Comment
You should just lie back and enjoy it…
Comment
I loved personal demons and would adore a copy of this book. My fave moment was the big revelation about what Megan had done to the Yezer (won’t say more for those who haven’t read it) and her subsequent relationship with them.
My review back in march btw http://hagelrat.blogspot.com/search/label/Stacia%20Kane

Say what?! A SIGNED COPY!
I know, i know. I haven’t read Personal Demons, or any of your written words yet. So don’t enter me in the comp — that wouldn’t be fair!
I did want to comment though, and say how awesome this book sounds, and that it’s gone on my ‘to read’ list. In fact, I bumped it straight up to the top five want to reads!
Congrats on the new release! Hope there’ll be loads more :O)
Comment
Oh, thanks! I am very excited about the upcoming releases, yeah.
Comment
OK, I guess not a legitimate entry, since I just saw Mark’s comment about your book he just read being the “best urban fantasy, evah,” so I ordered Personal Demon. (‘Cause I trust Mark like that for some reason.) But consider me a brand new fan-pending, easily molded to your will! A copy of The Demon Inside would certainly mold me all firm and not likely to ooze away!
Comment
Well, I really appreciate it, but I already emailed you to let you know it was CITY OF GHOSTS he was talking about. Still. Thanks a lot!
Comment
I guess I’ll have to read it and find out, eh? Asked to enter…here I am hon. I love to read new authors. Congrats.
Comment
Thanks so much!

Well, my favorite already got mentioned, so I’ll go with fending off zombies with a plunger. I loved the imagery of it, and the idea that in case of zombies, you’re going to look at EVERYTHING as a weapon.
Comment
Hee, yeah, I was pretty proud of that. That was fun to write.
Comment
Oooh, come on Stacia! I just woke up! (ok, think. THINK!)
Comment
The only moment that I can think of was when Megan and Grey first met in person. It’s clear she’s not impressed (even though he’s super hot) and she’s not afraid to show it. I think that’s one of main reasons why I liked her so much in PD, ’cause she’s honest and doesn’t take shit.
Comment
Thanks! I did try to make her an appealing, grown-up sort of character.
Comment
Wendy, you’re a winner! Email me your address ASAP!
Comment
Don’t have it yet but it’s in my TBB pile!! And would love to win a copy.

I actually have 3 fav moments from the book. Going after zombies w/a plunger was pretty great. Then like many others, there’s the 3 brothers helping Megan out w/hair and makeup, a classic. My fav scene w/Megan and Grey is actually at the end of the book when after all the climactic drama has ended and Megan was totally pissed at Grey for the mean things he said and he cursed and then got out and left. The scene that occurred between the 2 of them out in the hallway was really sweet.
Can’t wait to read the 2nd book!
Comment
Thank you! I loved that moment at the end, too!
Comment
I would love to win the book. Sadly I haven’t had the chance to read your other book yet.
Comment
That’s okay, thanks!

OHHHHH Can’t wait til Tuesday, but the possibility of a signed copy is so captivating.
Please throw my name in the hat.
Absolutely loved Personal Demons, by the way!

Fave scene…lawyer jokes, of course.
Comment
Hahaha. There’s a really good one in the third book, I think.

i still laugh everytime i picture giguhl as a demon trapped inside a hairless cat wearing a sweater and booties or crashed out in a post-pizza coma.
Comment
oh shit sorry wrong book, i read you and jaye wells at teh same time and the two always get mixed up in my head, my favorite from personal demons and NOT red headed stepchild is the three brothers doing megans hair and makeup.
sorry for my epic fail
Comment
LOL! I loved Giguhl too! Jaye is awesome, isn’t she?
No apology necessary!
Comment
Ok my favourite things in the book were Malleus, Maleficarum, and Spud. Brilliant, funny and fabulous.
Comment
Thank you! They’re not in the second book as much but they have some really fun moments in the third!!

I regret to say I had never heard of these books until the RT of the contest. They are now on my list. I would still live to win but don’t have the required contest material. Good luck everyone!
Comment
Lol, that’s okay. I’m entering everyone anyway.
Thanks!

Hi
Thanks for a wonderful unexpected contest.
Just got back online and found out about it!
My first favorite part of Personal Demons was when it was made clear to me that she had a talent for seeing things others could not. The radio call-in vision was a hint. The session with Kevin was a better hint, but this clinched it:
Something hovered in the air over the right shoulder of the woman at the next table.
The shadowy form lacked definition but as Megan watched she caught a flash of what looked like dark green before the color disappeared. The shadow stayed, rippling at the edges but hovering in place.
The woman didn’t notice, but Megan stared transfixed. Blurry edges of darkness reached out and passed over the woman’s face, then slipped back into the semi-solid mass.
The image made her gorge rise, but she kept staring, unable to move or blink. If she looked away, would it disappear? Or would it move, leaping to one of the other diners, as if trying to gain entry to someone’s body? It felt so wrong, so . . . evil. Her skin prickled and itched.
While the woman laughed and ate her food, the blurry form twisted and darted around, staying in the same space but writhing as if trying to burst through some kind of membrane
This made me read on with keen interest.
What would happen next?
I adore your writing!
Love from Northern Ontario

I really liked the scene where Greyson and Megan finally get together. It was just so hot. Does that make me a perv??
LOL.
I enjoyed the brothers, too, if that redeems me.
I thought they were very funny, and so not what one would expect from demon bodyguards. The entire book was a refreshingly unique take on demons.
Comment
Lol, no, because it’s one of my favorite scenes too!
Thanks!
Comment
I loved any scene with the brothers demon (Malleus, Maleficarum and Spud). They were better than sparkly vampires. I’m just sayin’.
Comment
Lol, thanks Tom!

Hi Stacia! I loved Personal Demons, it was so original. I liked reading when Megan first starts to see everyones demons (in the studio taping) and figuring out what they are, the descriptions are great! I found your book by chance looking at B&N on line and I’m so glad I did!
Comment
Aw, I haven’t read that book yet! But man… I love all of the skulls and flowers around here. Pretty, pretty.
Comment
ohhh I forgot to say I love Spud!
