I can't see why anyone would want to join a contest run by someone so arrogant that they think it's okay to use other people's platforms in that fashion. I've been blogging for years, and I work at it. I've been writing books for years, and I work at it. The audience at this blog is MY audience*, and I don't appreciate someone thinking they can swoop in and "capture" my audience without doing any of the work I did to gain it, if that makes any sense. (*Which of course isn't to say my audience here isn't welcome to read other blogs. Just that you're here for me, because I worked hard to bring you here, and I don't think it's right for someone to try to swoop in and essentially shove me out of the way.) I think people can genuinely tell when you're well-intentioned and not trying to be offensive. Listening to other people's political opinions is generally about as entertaining as cleaning carpets with a toothbrush. Unless you agree 100%, in which case you get to feel all vindicated. Either way, there are plenty of blogs you can go to if you want that sort of thing, but this isn't one of them. I prefer to try to actually be entertaining because I'm entertaining, not because I can parrot people's politics back to them. Lol, that’s a big part of it, too.
